Google Sitemaps (BETA) Help

I think this experiment will soon turn into a google feature that all website owners use. This will definatly speed up the process when you want to see your new content show on google results. I think it give more control to the website owner and a better chance in getting their content into google. And I also agree with Marshall Simmonds, VP of Enterprise Search Marketing of The New York Times it gives you more flexibility when you have the ability to push data rather than waiting for the spider to find the data.

In the past year I have come to depend more and more on Google as a spell checker. Yesterday I was looking up the phone number to a cafĂ© with Google and a new dictionary feature appeared Google is testing. In additional to the standard feature of “Did you mean”, Google hyperlinked the word in the search box it thought was misspelled. I clicked on it and a drop down menu appeared with possible correct spellings.

I was surfing the web and came across a link that said this guys has a lot of time in his hands... So I decided to click on the link to see what it was about and I agree the guy has way too much time in his hands.

A recent post about Microsoft Scalable Fabric prompted me to browse through the MS Research Download page, where I ran across GroupBar [download]:
'GroupBar is a prototype for demonstrating the use of window-grouping features in an XP TaskBar-like interface. The window tiles in the GroupBar can be rearranged in any order or dragged and dropped into lightweight 'groups' that allow one-click task-switching and convenient group operations.' "

I just learned this a few minutes ago, but you can take an ASP.NET 2.0 application offline temporarily by uploading a file called App_Offline.htm. It will spin down the appdomain and redirect all requests to that page. Neato!

The internet search engine Google and Sun Microsystems have joined forces to challenge Microsoft's dominance of computer software.

The chief executives of Google Incorporated and Sun Microsystems Incorporated, announced their plans at a news conference in Mountain View, California.

The move could lead to Google offering next-generation word processing, spreadsheet and collaboration tools that would take on Microsoft's industry-leading Office suite of software.
